The 2nd International Deaf Scout Camp Czech Republic 2008

Žumberk (near České Budějovice and Český Krumlov)
July 21-30, 2008

We are very glad to inform you about the coming 2nd International Deaf Scout Camp! This camp will be held in the southern part of the Czech Republic, two years after the 1st International Deaf Scout Camp, which was held in Larch Hill, near Dublin, Ireland. We are still having fondest memories of the first meeting of Deaf scouts in Larch Hill, where new friendships were and still are fostered between scouts from the world.

The region around the camp is full of beautiful nature and historical towns and villages, where you can best see what the traditional Czech way of life used to be. The camp ground is about 20 km away from the beautiful historical town of Český Krumlov. There are many old castles. The Vltava river, immortalised by the famous deafened Czech composer, Bedrich Smetana, is perfectly ideal for canoeing.

The Camp will start off with an amazing Opening Ceremony with the traditional lighting of the campfire.
